Scrabo Strider Janice completes her 50th Parkrun

We had a massive turnout at the Bangor Parkrun on Saturday 15th. Twenty-eight members ran the 5k race in a show of #purplepower, to honour fellow member Janice Irvive who was celebrating her 50th Parkrun that day! Well done Janice from your Strider buddies, you have covered 250 km at these events which would take you from Belfast to Londonderry and back.

First home for the ladies was Tina Miller in a new Personal Best (PB) and for the gents Paul Sheldon. The followed Gary Clarke (PB), Lynn Sheldon (PB), Oliver Seeger, Sharon Andrews, Barbara McKechnie (PB), Liz Turton, Jonathan Keenan, Sheena Crone (First Timer), Nicola McNamara (PB), Linda Dugan, Wendy Thompson, Steven Craythorne, Jimmy Andrews, Stacey Andrews (PB), Angie Crone (PB), Sharon Graham (PB), Carleen Seeger (PB), Karen Clarke (PB), Stephen Campbell, Catherine Lavery, Sharon Hunsdale (PB), Hannah Robinson (First Timer), Chris Stevenson, Jasmine Geddis (PB), Lesleyann Morrow and Janice Irvine. It was fantastic to see such great support for Janice and a sea of purple in Ward Park.

The personal best theme continued at the Comber Parkrun thanks to Curtis McCaw (1st overall) and Nigel Martin. Young Jared Martin delivered another strong performance coming in 4th overall and Sara Amanda Martin the fourth Strider home at Comber. Sharon Frazer represented the club and achieved a personal best at the Victoria Parkrun in East Belfast and Andrea De Silva ran at Ormeau. Well done folks and keep up the good work.

At Ballygalget 10K Jared Martin was the first Strider home and for the ladies Shannon Clegg. Then came Paul Sheldon, Nigel Martin, Lynn Sheldon and John Clegg. Alan Steen ran the HD Race 1 at Castlewellan in an impressive time under one hour. Thanks for representing the club at these events guys.

A big thank you to all participants for representing the Club and to our travelling supporters and photographers too
